CCI offers condolences for a Great Canadian

With deep sadness and regret, the Canadian council of Imams received the news on August 22, 2011 of the demise of the Honourable Jack Layton, federal leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and the Official Opposition. The news were shocking and gloomy to us. Jack Layton represented for many of us what Canada is all about. A man of principles and integrity, he influenced and inspired many Canadians especially the youth.

On behalf of the Canadian Council of Imams, we extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the honourable Jack Layton.
