May 14: 22nd Annual Interfaith Dinner: Imam Hamid Keynote Speaker

The event was a successful one. Imam Hamid Slimi, Imam of the International Muslims Organization of Toronto, delivered a historical speech since this was the first time the keynote speaker was a Muslim. The speech was entitled “It’s All About The Golden Rule” where Imam Slimi emphasized that the solution of all the worlds problems is found in the Golden rule. Imam Slimi highlighted verses from the Torah, the Gospel and the Qur'an showing how critical is the need for continuous dialog among faiths specifically among the Muslims and the Jews and the Christians (The People of the Book). He also stressed working together for common concerns and projects.

The event was attended by many dignitaries, priests and rabbis of Toronto as well as hundreds of people from their congregations and from the public.
