The Council participates in UofT Multi-Faith Center Conference

Imam Hamid Slimi, the chairman of the council, spoke on Oct 07 at the UofT Multi-faith Conference which was held at the new premises.

The focus of the program was the discussion of the document which was signed last year by many world renowned Muslim Scholars called, "A Common Word between Us and You." The document expanded on the Qur'anic verse (Chap 03, V.64) calling the people of the Book to the Common word of understanding.

Imam Hamid Slimi emphasized on the universality and inclusiveness of the Prophetic example through love, mercy and the golden rule (do to others as you would like them do to you.)
Other speakers were Rabbi Michael Stroh of Temple Har Zion and Suzan Harisson of the Toronto School of Theology.
